It was another strong weekend for Paul Rivett in the Fun Cup at Silverstone as he and his RAW Motorsports team-mates matched their best result of the season.
For the four-hour race, Rivett and regular team-mate Alex MacLeod were joined by MacLeod’s brother John – who can more often be found racing Radicals.
Together the trio had a successful race, ending up eighth and just three laps behind the leaders after a trouble-free run. John will again join the team for the next event at Oulton Park and Rivett says that makes the racing more enjoyable – as two drivers can watch the race together from the pits.
“It was nice to have John driving with us and that was really good fun and made it more sociable,” said Rivett. “John jumped in and was instantly quick so it was really good.
“The result was just what we wanted and we’re really pleased with that. We were within two tenths of fastest lap, which is good and it was a good, fun meeting. Generally when I’m in the car we’re running at a similar pace as the leaders and Alex is just getting better and better – he had one of his best drives to date.”
Before Rivett’s next Fun Cup outing, his attention turns back to the British Truck Racing Championship as the series resumes at Pembrey on October 5-6.
“We’re in a fight for second in the championship and we want to come out of that on top!” he added.
