Three-time Renault UK Clio Cup title winner and double Winter Cup Champion Paul Rivett has today, Friday, 14th February, officially launched an exciting new iPad ‘app’ which has been created to help tutor amateur racing drivers and trackday enthusiasts.

Designed and built by club racer Stewart Calder, the app – entitled ‘Race Coach’ – provides video based instruction on race technique for all of the UK’s major circuits with each piece of footage hand selected by Rivett himself to offer the very best tutelage.

Each of the videos demonstrates the correct line and approach for the particular track in question, as well as featuring written commentary from the Renault UK Clio Cup mainstay. This affords those who download the app the opportunity to benefit from Rivett’s meticulously detailed knowledge, attained over many years as one of the most successful national racing drivers in the UK.

Additionally, the videos include carefully timed visual aids which help the user to understand what they should be doing at that precise moment on track. Importantly, notes can be made by those using the app and then saved for future use.

Rivett’s status as the most successful driver in the history of the Renault UK Clio Cup is well known, but what is perhaps less well acknowledged is his impressive strike rate of wins which currently stands at 30 percent.

“I’m really proud of this app, it’s a fantastic tool for aspiring drivers to use to help improve their skills and technique and there’s nothing else like it out there”, said Rivett, “It’s been put together to work hand-in-hand with actual track instruction and I’m confident it can help make a big difference.

“It’s taken Stewart [Calder] and I about a year to create and we’re both really pleased with how it’s turned out. We definitely know it works as he used it himself in the MINI Challenge, after giving Stewart some tuition and then supplementing that with the app he managed to achieve three top 10 finishes at Donington last season and was named Driver of the Weekend.”
