About WDE Motorsport
WDE Motorsport is a UK team based in Ashford, Kent. It is a subsidiary company to the highly successful and well regarded WDE Recruitment. Established in 1998, WDE Recruitment quickly became a big name in recruitment and continued in 2011 to build upon its foundations to expand into Europe and beyond. In 2008 WDE Motorsport was formed. The sole purpose of this new venture was to do to Motorsport what its parent company has done to recruitment in the last decade – invest in the future and expand using the right people with experience and expertise in the right fields. The ultimate goal is to aim high, create a splash and offer an experience with opportunities that other teams currently overlook.
Renault Clio Cup
Renault UK’s flagship motor racing championship, the Renault UK Clio Cup, enters an exciting new era in 2014 with the arrival of the turbo-charged, 1.6-litre fourth generation racing Clio – a significant progression for the manufacturer’s long-standing commitment to one-make saloon car competition in Britain. While sharing its identity with the brand new Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDC roadcar, the racing variant is a true, purpose-built thoroughbred racer. Already established as the key feeder category to the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship, the evolution of the latest Renault Clio racer elevates the level of performance ever closer to touring car standard. As an intrinsic part of the BTCC support package, by far the biggest and most popular motorsport ‘tour’ in Britain, the Renault UK Clio Cup provides the very best proving ground for the professional touring car and GT drivers of the future. Watched by hundreds of thousands of spectators trackside at the country’s premier race circuits, including Brands Hatch, Donington Park and Oulton Park, the championship also benefits from first class television exposure. Live raceday coverage is screened on ITV4 and ITV4 HD and the category also benefits from a quality highlights package on the ‘Motorsport UK’ magazine programme. – Renaultsport media brochure
